PPP Restoration Manager, Kaya Halpern, shared updates and a brief video about recent progress in the Preserve.
This season we were busy with lots of projects and we were able to get so much done because of all of the amazing help we had- volunteers, restoration committee, STRAW, our stewards Louyuh and Vickie, and Conservation Corps North Bay.
Some of the projects included:
- Planted over 300 plants w/STRAW (Students and Teachers Restoring a Watershed)
- Ramp down to the gravel beach
- Removal of ivy, vinca, and invasive blackberry
- Chipped the path
- Cleared debris from the trail going down to the beach
- Removed and chipper bays
- Volunteer days- ivy clearing and "Sip and Clip"
This summer STRAW will provide weekly watering and maintenance of the newly planted area. Watch the video to see more!
